Daria has a wide range of advocacy experience at trial and appellate levels of the provincial and federal courts. She also appears before various administrative tribunals. Daria’s areas of practice include employment law, labour law, human rights, administrative law, civil and commercial litigation.
Daria was called to the Ontario Bar in 2001 and has both her Common law (Queen’s University) and Civil law (l’Université de Sherbrooke) degrees. Daria is fluently bilingual and practises in both English and French. During her studies, Daria was the French member of the Queen’s Laskin Moot Team, finishing first place in Canada.
Prior to rejoining the law firm of Shields & Hunt, Daria worked at a large, full-service law firm in Toronto, an Ottawa based full-service law firm, and at the Department of Justice Canada. She is committed to providing the highest quality of service to her clients and is successful at resolving disputes efficiently and effectively.
In addition to her law practice, Daria is an Adjudicator for CIRA’s Resolution Canada, an on-line dispute resolution service for domain name disputes. She volunteers as Duty Counsel with Ontario’s Pro Bono Law Help Ontario at the Ottawa Courthouse. Daria has recently taught Civil Procedure as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Law (Common law).
Outside of the office, Daria enjoys running, surfing, snowboarding, travelling, acting, reading and listening to music.
